General notes:
There were numerous warden posts set up in the Borough of Richmond all labelled after a letter of the alphabet, although sometimes also known by their location. The Local Studies archive houses papers pertaining to warden posts A (located in the Coach and Horses public house just off Kew Green) and V(located in Terrace Gardens, Richmond Hill). The warden's posts were managed by Richmond's Civil Defence organisation and the A.R.P. Department based, at least in part, in Lion House until the 9th June 1945.
