Disney-Pixar animation featuring the voice talents of Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey. New York City music teacher Joe Gardner (Foxx) has always dreamed of becoming a successful jazz musician. However, when he is given the chance to play with legendary bandleader Dorothea Williams (Angela Bassett), an untimely accident leads Joe to leave Earth for the Great Before. Refusing to accept his fate and venture into the Great Beyond, Joe attempts to convince cynical soul 22 (Fey) that life is worth living so he can make it back to Earth in time to deliver the performance of his life.
