All six parts of the crime drama based on true events in which a detective faces scrutiny for his handling of the murder investigation of a missing woman. As Superintendent Steve Fulcher (Martin Freeman) works tirelessly to locate Sian O'Callaghan (Florence Howard), his investigation reaches its peak when he encounters Christopher Halliwell (Joe Absolom), a taxi driver who has become the main suspect for Sian's disappearance. In order to locate Sian's whereabouts, Detective Fulcher will stop at nothing to get the information he needs, but ends up deviating from strict police codes and ultimately the law.
