All six episodes from the second series of the adaptation based on the popular books by James Herriot set in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930s. Having been promoted to the role of Senior Vet, James (Nicholas Ralph) finally feels like he belongs among the people of rural Darrowby. However, when a position in his native Glasgow becomes available, James has a difficult decision to make. Meanwhile, his infatuation for Helen (Rachel Shenton) continues to cause him much anguish. The episodes are: 'Where the Heart Is', 'Semper Progrediens', 'We Can But Hope', 'Many Happy Returns', 'The Last Man In' and 'Home Truths'. The Christmas special 'The Night Before Christmas' is also included.
