Brickle and [Luffram?] have searched for Fanny's corset but to no avail. Mary describes the funeral of Henry Irving, as related to her by Miss [Hawbury?]. Mary had been invited but felt she could not face the crowds and did not want to impose on Will by asking him to take her. She sent a heart-shaped wreath. Mary also notes the funeral of her friend Bishop Charles Ellicott. Mary remarks that the sun yesterday appeared 'like blood - apocalyptic but beautiful'. Eliza Tuttiett, mother of Mary's friend the author Mary Tuttiett (pen name Maxwell Gray), is very ill.
