The letter reads:'Just a line to tell you that if you do not send me the money for Marion or if you cannot send it by return write and say that you will do so, that my father will write to your mother it is all I can do to stop him from writing now. I have heard from Mr Le__ and he sent me the 5/- he had in hand and he says it is out of his hands now.I have commenced business at the Baltic on the Quay Side, N. C. I parted from my Marion a week last Sunday. I have 7/- to pay for her and 5/- a week for my room. So I could do with the 5/- a week for Marion. I do not want to do you any harm, as you know. I would have done so before now. If you do not answer by return then I cannot help what follows.Marion is quite well, I miss her so and I am not well. Goodbye, hoping to hear from you in return. From Dolly.'
