Mary is pleased that Dr B was able to cure Fanny's cough, and wishes that Ted would go to see him about his hearing. Fanny is planning a fancy dress ball, and Mary says she will look for the Chinese costume for G minor, but that he shouldn't get his hopes up. Maud, Ted, and Marjorie have been staying with Mary since December. Mary has been for dinner with Lady Anna Chandos-Pole; Sir Reginald Barnwell was there and they talked about the death of Mrs Langdale.
