Dora is now based in Liverpool for work. She is living there without Marion. The letter reads:'You will see by the address that I am in Liverpool. I have been in business here for over two months now, but I am going back to Newcastle in a short time. I have just heard that Marion is very ill caught cold or bad chest. I am so short of money and can hardly ______ Marion each week. My health is very bad and _______ going to business there wet ______ and getting wet feet does not tend to make me any better. My cough is worse and I am continually spitting blood. I am sure if you met me now you would not recognise me. Will you try and send me a little money it would be a great help to me if you could. From one who can never forget you,D. L.'
